POSITION
Director of Victim Services

DESCRIPTION
The Triangle Foundation is seeking a Director of Victim Services to provide leadership in the planning and implementation of the Victim Services Program by providing direct services to clients and families involved in anti-GLBT violence, discrimination, harassment, and vandalism. The ideal candidate will have:

RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Director of Victim Services will:
• Provide direct services to clients and families involved in anti-GLBT violence, discrimination, harassment, and vandalism;
• Maintain enhanced contact with violent crime victims. Provides various services and support to crime victims during their involvement with the judicial system;
• Review new cases daily to determine victim contact needs;
• Provide referrals and Crime Victim Compensation applications to qualified victims;
• Accompany victims of violent crime to court. Assists with the completion and reading of victim impact statements;
• Develop and present programs to groups regarding Victim Advocacy and available services;
• Maintain contact with outside agencies, particularly law enforcement, police unions and associations, correctional facilities, and victim-oriented social services agencies - on behalf
of individual crime victims;
• Develop and maintain attorney and counselor referral program;
• Collect, maintain and comply with all laws, regulations and court requirements;
• Manage compliance with the annual National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs;
• Prepare grant applications, quarterly reports, and closing reports that comply with Victim of Crime Act (VOCA) funding;
• Provide education about victim services to all staff including Victim Advocacy staff;
• Develop and implement programs by which the organization raises awareness about crime and victim services to the LGBT and larger community. This includes public
speaking, diversity training, materials development;
• Directly supervise all victim services staff, volunteers and interns.
• Statewide travel is required

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director or designee

QUALIFICATIONS
The Director of Victim Services is required to hold, at minimum, a Juris Doctorate or the equivalent graduate/post-graduate education and/or experience. In addition, the preferred candidate would hold an Master of Social Work Degree. The Director is required to have previous experience in providing direct services to the LGBT community and victims of violence. The Director is required to work 40 hours per week, but may work additional hours as required for each individual case.
