Our Communities

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and allied people come in every shape, size, color and creed.  The LGBT community is one of the most diverse and compassionate communities in the world.  With this diversity, there are a variety of communities with it that are just as unique as the greater LGBT community. The list of communtiies to below is just a faction of the various groups who not only identify as LGBT and allied, but also however else they wish.

Triangle Foundation works to ensure that everyone who aligns themselves with the LGBT community is provided with outstanding statewide events, protection of their civil rights, and the feeling of being safe in their respective cities and our state.

Community can often be a buzz word for anyone in a social movement.  It is a word we use repeatedly to describe where we are from, what we stand for, and who we are as human beings. Defining a community can become difficult when ideologies are challenged and we are forced to ask those around us if they are with us. It is all too common that in the process of defining ourselves and coming out, we lose family, friends, and our sense of community.  It is through our community events that we hope to build our community and create a new family of friends for those looking to rebuild their lives and recreate their community.

As individuals, our events are necessary so we may surround ourselves with those like us to know we are not alone.  As an organization, we at Triangle need these events to show the world that we are here in Michigan.  With our increased visibility around the state and our growing community, LGBT life in Michigan is getting better and better.

Triangle Foundation makes a point to be OUT in our community as much as possible. We work daily in our Policy and Victim Services Department to make Michigan a place where hate and bias no longer exist.  Even when legislation will not pass and instances of hate still occur, we do have our community as a safe haven and our community events as our places for freedom, togetherness and pride.
