Triangle Pride PAC is a statewide registered political action committee of
Michigan's GLBT community. Triangle Pride PAC plays a leading role in
placing gay-related issues where they belong in the mainstream of Michigan
politics. Most importantly, Triangle Pride PAC makes financial and in-kind
contributions to candidates vying for seats in the various races in Michigan
including the Governor, House and Senate races during the election season.
We distribute our slate of endorsed candidates throughout the state.
Candidates are endorsed based on their track records and positions on issues
important to GLBT persons.
Operating with a diverse committee representing the GLBT and allied
communities of Michigan, Triangle Pride PAC uses a developed criteria to
evaluate candidates. We look for a solid history of support for gay and
lesbian equality in a number of areas, including hate crimes prevention,
equal rights, school safety, and HIV/AIDS care, treatment, prevention and
research just to name a few. In addition to financial contributions,
Triangle Pride PAC also helps organize fundraisers and generates volunteers
for some races.
The Triangle Pride PAC committee provides candidates with critical advice on
organizing, fundraising and winning elections. Committee members are also
instrumental in assisting with the Triangle Annual Lobby Day.
